Hello, World.

I am Saad Zafar.
Computer Science Graduate
Full-Stack Web Developer

More About Me.

I am a self-motivated individual with an out-going personality who loves to dabble in computer languages and basically anything tech related. My curret life-goals are to find stable employment at a tech firm and learn the tricks of the trade and contribute to the company in turn. Some ways down the road, I plan on starting my own IT and Network solutions firm.

I come from humble beginings. Growing up in a third-world country like Pakistan, I wasn't exposed to the latest in tech trends until they were already a couple of years outdated. When the global internet phenomenon hit Pakistan in the early 2000s, I pressured my dad into buying a US Robotics 64k modem to hook up to my PC. I will never forget that signature buzzing sound of dial-up-internet as the modem opened up a portal to a land of wonder on my PC. Like Alice falling into the rabbit hole, I dove head-first into this magical world. I no longer had to wait a long time to see new tech; I could finally read up on the latest gadgets and technologies being unveiled every day.

It has been over a decade since I took that dive but the amazement hasn't lessened, not one bit. I am now at a stage where I wish to contribute something back towards the advancement of this amazing piece of technology.

I created a permission structure for Firebase which is used by Vecta to store user drawings. I also worked on some minor UI tweaks for Vecta as well as debugged the cross-browser and platform issues. I was also responsible for creating a deployment framework for Vecta as well as setting up the servers for Vecta to run on.

Sarawak General Hospital

Team Leader - Swinburne Final Year Project

I headed a team of 3 students and myself to complete a project for clinical pharmacists at Sarawak General Hospital. This project was in compliance with my Final Year Project for by Undergraduate degree in Computer Science. I was responsible for liaising with the client and formulating a project plan based on his requirements. We were tasked with creating a system which would allow the patients of the hospital to remotely input their medical readings (BP, Heart Rate, Glucose, etc.) via an app on their smartphones and these readings would be stored in a remote databse and be available for review in realtime for the doctors and clinical researchers at the hospital using a web portal. The mobile app would also update the patients on the dosage of their medications as set by the doctors via the web portal as well as remind them when it was time to take the medication. The reason for the creation of this system was so that the doctors and researchers at the hospital would be able to accurately monitor the effects of the prescribed medications on the patients and regulate dosages accordingly.
